PCA Autocross Event 6 (5/31/08) - June 3, 2008
Since there were no other events this weekend, I went to the Porsche Club of America autocross at Raceway Park. The event was somewhat disappointing since it started raining after the second heat. The event was cancelled after that point so each person only got four runs.
The car felt like it had a lot of grip with a moderate tendency to understeer. I kept the front ride height the same as I had made it for the Club Loose drifting event thinking that the wheels wouldn't rub the fenders if I wasn't at full lock. However, the tires hit the top seam in the wheel wells instead, especially when going over bumps. I raised the ride height about half an inch since the seam in the wheel well was starting to cut a groove into the tire. Hopefully, I won't have any rubbing issues in the next event.
The results for my class (XM) are shown below. This class is for all non-Porsche competitors with modified cars. Unfortunately, the results didn't show the cars that competitors were using.
- Jake Namer - 48.482
- Pun Yuk - 48.644
- Miroslav Ovcharik: 1992 Nissan 240SX - 51.358
- Kyle Baluyot - 53.151
- Archie Nevado: 240SX (S14) - 53.226
- Tom Constantine - 54.623
The fastest time of the day was a 45.694 put in by Robert Ida in a Porsche race car.
