Attended Club Loose Advanced Day - June 27, 2008

My first advanced day turned out to be very disappointing as my engine started leaking oil after my sixth run. For now, it looks like only the front main seal needs to be replaced. Read more.

Painted Intake Pipe - June 20, 2008

Intake pipe primered with Rust-Oleum white primer Intake pipe painted with Rust-Oleum Protective Enamel black paint Paint dry on the intake pipe

With the intake pipe done, I decided to paint it in order to hide the JB Weld on the seams. I used Rust-Oleum Protective Enamel black paint with Rust-Oleum white primer. I applied two coats of primer, then flipped the piece and applied two coats to the other side. I repeated this procedure with paint application. I let the paint dry for about 24 hours before touching the piece.

Cut Rear Interior Panels to Fit Coilover Adjusters - June 18, 2008

Interior panels before being cleaned up Left side panel marked for cutting Left side panel cut out Both rear interior panels cut

When I installed the KTS coilovers a while back, I had to cut the rear interior panels because the adjusters were rubbing against the panels. I didn't have a chance to clean up the cuts since I was in a rush, so I took a few minutes to cut out more of the panels to make them look decent and allow for more room to adjust the shocks.

Received New Breather Filter - June 17, 2008

Milkspeed breather filter package Milkspeed breather filter - Front view Milkspeed breather filter - Rear view

I ordered a JWT breather filter a while ago for the valve cover. I found that it was too big to fit next to the valve cover properly and that the inlet diameter was too big. The JWT filter fits relatively well on the PAIR valve air intake, so I decided to use it there.

I ordered another filter last Tuesday from eBay for $3. I got it from the seller milkspeed. The filter body has a 50 mm diameter, and the inlet has a 12 mm diameter, which fits on the breather tube. This filter should be small enough to fit next to the valve cover and clear the hood.

Rented Garage and Received Missing Bushing Sleeve - June 16, 2008

I decided to rent a garage with a friend to have a place to work on our cars and eventually build roll cages to turn the cars into full drift/race cars. The first two pictures are of my car in the garage.

I also got the missing bushing sleeve from Energy Suspension. I called them on June 6th, and they sent me the right part after I told them what I was missing. They gave me great service. Now I have everything I need to start installing the bushings.
