Wheels Delivered - May 19, 2008

I'm glad I finally got these wheels. I ordered these way back on February 22nd from Team Illuminata Motorsport. The owner told me that it would take 6-10 weeks to get them delivered. I was willing to wait for them since I really liked the wheel design, and the wheels came in the offset and width I needed for autocross. Also, they're relatively lightweight at 18 lbs. and inexpensive ($200 each).

Even though it actually took about 12 weeks for them to get here, the service from Team Illuminata was great, and the owner got back to me quickly whenever I asked for an update on the status of the wheels. The shipping time was out of their control since the wheels were drop shipped from the factory.

The wheels arrived in two large boxes with good packaging.

I should have the Falken RT-615 tires mounted on the wheels in the next couple of days. I also ordered KTS coilovers which should be getting here on Wednesday. Hopefully, I'll have everything installed before the Friday and Saturday autocross events.

Sparco seat hardware kits for mounting the seats to the rails

Another thing that came in was the hardware kit ($9 per seat) for the Sparco seats. Apparently, the bolts and washers don't come with the seat, which I didn't realize. So after getting the seat delivered, I had to order the mounting hardware separetely.

I could have gone to Home Depot and probably found bolts to match the seats, but I wasnted sure if there was anything special about the Sparco hardware that makes it suitable for the seat mounts. After getting the hardware, It turns out that they are just regular bolts with some large washers. At least I'll know if I ever buy another Sparco seat.
